10 minutes to get the highest number of consecutive double unders.  You may have as many attempts as you'd like at achieving that number, but all you have is 10 minutes to do so.

Then..

2 Rounds of:

400m OH Walks (45#/25#)

This is not a timed workout. The only thing you must do, is not put the weight down. If you do put the weight down before completing the 400m, you must do 10 Burpee Pull Ups. You may rest as long as needed between attempts but once you start walking with the plate your attempt has begun. You will post the total Burpee Pull Ups you did. That number should be low. There will be a 30 minute time limit on this workout.

Post max double unders and burpee pull ups to comments.

" Friend and Mentor "

As most of you may know by now, I have a couple of very influential mentors that have helped my define what path I was to travel as a fitness professional. This past week I had the wonderful opportunity to get to visit with one of them. Neil Rampe paid a visit to CFEC this past Monday and met a lot of you and enjoyed the chance to share some of his knowledge with a few of you. His job is working as a Massage Therapist with the Arizona Diamondbacks baseball team. Although that is his job title, his work entails many aspects of getting professional athletes ready for competition at the highest level. There have been very few people I have met who have as great a passion for what makes a human body perform as Neil does. It is an even greater attribute that Neil is as nice a person you'll ever meet. His humility and giving are very apparent upon meeting him.

At breakfast Monday morning, we spoke about the fitness industry and how it has gone off course in many aspects. I introduced him to CrossFit and its methodology. He thought it was on the right track in helping people sustain their quality of life as long as possible. He also agreed with CrossFit in that fitness happens with intensity. He absolutely loved the fact that we practiced and often did the Olympic lifts. We agreed that those moves are as valuable a skill set anyone could ever possibly need to develop athleticism. It was very sad to learn that in his environment, if he was ever to be seen doing Olympic lifts with any professional players in their weight room, he would be fired. What a shock!

Overall, the time spent with Neil was too short, but I am very thankful that I have such a tremendous resource available to me. We also had the chance to go down to the ballpark and spend some time together before the Padre-Diamondback game Monday night. Thanks go out to Richard Anderson for all he did in setting that up. I would like to see Neil put on a little seminar for us at CFEC about bodywork and performance. Thank you all for being so hospitable to him while he was at CFEC.
