GOALS
by Lisa Barbara
If you have not had the pleasure of meeting Jaynee Steinman, she can be seen working hard three afternoons each week here at CrossFit East County. She has been training with Jason Nanetti for over 15 months and has recently had TWO hip replacements, the last one just 6 months ago. Jaynee returned to her weekly workouts with Jason only 6 short weeks post-op! One of her favorite exercises in a workout is rowing. She has a 1000m row PR of 4:55, a scaled 14 rounds of "Cindy", and she can Clean and Jerk 35#, 30 times. Among the many workouts Jaynee has tackled is the "House of Cards", the FULL deck, and "Tabata This". Of course Jaynee has also conquered the beast called "Fran." She completed this in 4:55 by squatting to a 16" box and using the 18# bar for the Thrusters and Ring Rows for Pull-Ups. What are Jaynee's GOALS for the future? To continue crossfitting and to complete a Half Marathon within the next year! We think Jaynee is awesome and know that with her positive attitude, guts, and determination, she can do ANYTHING she sets her mind to! Post thoughts to comments.
For motivation/demoralization (depending on how you look at it) here’s how the Rocky Mnt competitors did:

Seems like a good time. I’m 99% sure I can’t make it due to family commitments, but seems like someone from cfec should represent. Newman…? Don…? Paul…?
Jaynee, it’s always a pleasure watching you go through your workouts. Your possitive attitude is always evident, even while you”re struggling to complete the workout. What I also enjoy is as your walking out the door, you depart with an encouraging and possitive word for others who are about to start their own workout. That always make those others feel like they can do anything. Thank you, Jaynee. We love having you in our CFEC family. With your hard work and dedication, we know you’ll get every one of those goals you’ve set for yourself.

I didn’t know about that Murph Fundraiser. I would have loved to participate. Unfortunately(for obvious reasons), several of us will be crewing for Crazy Man Steve on his 100 mile ultra marathon this Saturday. Everybody make sure to wish him luck. Just completing this thing is a superhuman feat.
We should see if we can hold the Murph Fundraiser on another weekend. I’m sure we’d get a lot of takers.

Jaynee, we overlapped on Monday afternoons for quite a while and I was able to see your impressive progress and steady recovery from “Hip Replacement II” happen in real time. Since my routine changed about six months ago, I had not seen you working out until recently, and wow am I amazed. What incredible progress you have made and what an inspiration you are to all of us. We are so proud of you! Keep it up! Tony
